Extended Ported Barrels For Glock 20

    Hello Y'all.

I've looked online at (2)6" extended barrels for the Glock 20 10MM one from EDK & another from Lone Wolf.

Does this offer any advantage for a Carry Gun?

The 6" length should make the Glock legal for Hog hunting in FLA.

I have a 6" ported Bar-Sto barrel in one of my Glock 20s, but the tiny ports don't do much. I mostly set it up as a car gun, for when I don't want to carry a long gun along; sort of a "hand rifle," and I was more interested in the velocity increase than recoil control. Other than Hybrid ports, I've found that barrel porting alone does little to reduce recoil, although muzzle flip is reduced to varying degrees. I have a couple of revolvers with Magna-Ports, one of which is an 8 3/8" 629. With the long barrel, muzzle flip is substantially reduced, but recoil is not, at least to my perception. In a 4" .44 mag., I can tell no difference in Magna-Ported vs. unported barrel. As a general rule, the greater the gas volume and pressure, the more good ports will do, and the bigger the ports, the more good they will do. I have a Quad-Port 3" Performance Center 681, and the reduction in muzzle rise and recoil torque is substantial, especially with 125gr. screamers. However, the Quad Port setup also has a bit of an expansion chamber, which makes the ports work better.

No I think the extra length makes is harder to carry. Would make it a nice hog gun though.
