New Springfield 1911, Range Report and Pics

I went to my local GS yesterday to look at the Springer 1911 Loaded that he told me he had, the price was $789 NIB OTD. I picked it up and was very pleased with the fit and finish of the gun. The slide to frame fit was very tight, the finish was excellant, it had a very nice trigger pull, not heavy at all. I racked the slide several times and as I said it was very tight. It also came with Trijicon Nite Sites, which I love. I was walking around thinking about buying it and he had a slightly used,( looks brand) new Kirkpatrick Leather OWB holster, he had a price tag of $20 on it. I told him I would buy the gun if he threw in the leather and he said ok. I brought her home and stripped it down and cleaned her.

Today I took her out and shot it, I put 150 flawless rounds down the pipe. 50 rounds of Federal 230 gr. ball ammo, 50 rounds of 230 gr. Magtec ball ammo, 25 230 gr. Gold Dot HP's, 10 rounds of 230 gr. Win Ranger HP's, and 15 rounds of 230 gr. Win PDX1 HP's. The pistol was flawless, not one malfunction. The trigger was very smooth, it was very accurate shooting @ 7, 15 and 25 yds, I kept everything in a 5" circle shooting off handed and was cutting holes on many groups. The POA seemed to be spot on, I would say the gun is more accurate tham I am. I will be ordering a set of grips from Sarge and putting a mag well on it, I have several Wilson mags that I use in my other 1911's and they worked great in the Springer as well, put another couple hundred rounds down the pipe and add it to EDC rotation. Overall I am very pleased with the pistol. One question I have is no where on the gun does it say anything about Brazil, the serial number is NM2#####, I was wondering is it made in the USA or not. Thanks alot

Someone else may correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the NM part of the serial number means it was made in the US.

This is what I thought also, but I wanted to make sure.

I think SA makes the best of the production 1911s, with this being one of the best buys from them. Thats a good price too, congrats.

I LOVE my loaded 1911. I have had 1,000's of rounds through it of all different loads and have NEVER once had any sort of problem.

Probably one of my favorite guns

    Congrats on the buy!

If I ever buy another 1911, it will probably be a Springfield Loaded.
