Springfield XD40sc mag release has improved

    Hi,

Well, I've kept my mag fully loaded for 3 days now and the pressure has been somewhat relieved. When I first got it I had a real hard time trying to release the mag even with only 6 rounds. Now, I have no issues with up to 8rds in the 9 rd mag. Fully loaded is still very difficult, but slightly improved. But the only time I really need to release a full mag is if I have to safeguard the gun. So, no more concerns about tactical reloads. Something I do during LE qualifications. I haven't taken the gun to the range yet because I'm waiting for SA to send me a new recoil spring rod and just want to make sure the one the gun came with is ok. Just thought I'd share. Thanks

Once you get to shooting it, you'll love the SA XD40 SC, it's a great little gun!

Which mag was the problem with 9 or 13 round?
If you have the pearce extension on the 9 round mag that might be the cause. If so use sand paper on the pearce extension to make it not fit so tight against the frame of the gun.
That cured the problem on mine when they wouldn't seat without a hard slam or were hard to eject.

Ditto on what Super Trucker posted. I love my XD9sc and while I have one factory SA mag that is "tight", I have others that are perfect. Maybe it just needs to be broken in.

This is NY, so 9 round mag. No Pearce extensions. The extended version mag that came from the factory is 10 round for us here and not as bad.

    THANKS, Super Trucker,

I have the pearce ext on my two 13 rounders and they both have to be slammed home.
I will try the sanding and see if if helps.
The orig mag base worked fine and so does the stock 16 rounders.

    Again thanks for the tip
