Great selection at my local GM; prices on guns 15-20% over the LGS's and forget about a deal on ammo. Plus, I'm either the invisible customer or I'm swarmed with hovering sales staff.

Same here in my neck of the woods. GM pricing is too high but the selection is usually ok in so far as brands, but caliber? They seem to focus on 9mm for some reason and getting assistance is spotty.

I stopped at Cabela's yesterday afternoon and the selection was pretty good right up to but not including 1911s. Kimber was far and away the dominant brand for that model with two Springfields, one in 40S&W and on EMP in 9mm. They did have a couple DWs that were pretty nice though and one Colt Gold Match. Pricing was 10-15% higher than my local gun shop.

Same here. I browse on occasion but will not buy there.

They were $100 dollars higher than other retailers in the area when I bought my G 26.

I love Gander Mtn., but I usually buy used and I've found some exceptionally good deals there for used guns. If memory serves the only NIB pistol I bought was a Beretta Neos for around $200, but I would only buy something on sale or a good used gun there. My son found a Sig 556 rifle on sale for $1000... a steal at the time. Their selection is pretty good. I'm very fortunate in that I have about 6 gun shops with-in easy driving time... 4 of them stocked very well.

Mine has a decent selection, but their prices can't touch a local pawn shop that deals through Davidson's.

Poor time getting help, guns are way too much BUT there are occasional deals in USED or on "sale"(regular price to all other gun shops) guns and seemingly a lot of .22's and shotguns are "regular" price...my S&W 22A was the same amount at GM that it was at the rest of the local gunshops. And ive seen decent deals on used stuff.
