    It's a boy!

    I kept telling myself to quit stalling and do it, so the other day I ordered this S&W 4566. Arrived today. VG to Excel condition, only the lightest holster wear. Went ahead and got an extra mag when I ordered it.

    Looked like it wasn't cleaned after the last firing, so it got stripped, degunked, and lubed. Put some light grease on the rails and it slides smooth as silk. The grip is a bit broader than I like, but I'll manage.

    Hopefully I can get out to the range in the next week to see how it performs. I've got a bunch of reloads screaming for attention.

    Picked up a box of Win 230 grn PDX1s at WW to go with my Gold Dots in my G30.

    If anyone knows of a source of wood grips for one of these, PM me.

    He used different models, but I think the one he had was the 10mm version. I remember him saying something about 10mms once.

    One thing I did discover on this one is that the decocker automatically goes back to the "fire" position. The gun is always in DA mode when loaded.

    Never used a decocker before and it was a bit surprising to see the hammer snap down like that. Took a moment to notice the the hammer block rise up.
