    Para Carry 9

Does anyone own a Para Carry 9? Opinions greatly appreciated. I am deciding between a Para Carry 9 or Springfield EMP. Para is limited double action, the Springfield is single action.

    Thanks,
I haven't shot the Para but I've shot the EMP. For me a lot of the attraction to the 1911 platform is that super sweet single action trigger. If I was looking for something in double action I would look at a different platform. YMMV

by changing the trigger on a 1911 over to double action, you're taking away its greatest asset!!

IMO the LDA is a very sweet setup for a CC gun. However Para has its own issues, with finish and whatnot.

I saw a new Carry 9 in a LGS about a month ago. The employee thought there was a smudge on the flat part of the slide lock/release. He couldn't rub it off and lightly "scraped" it with his fingernail. That took off the finish. I like the Carry 9, but you couldn't pay me to have one unless it was stainless with no black finish that's just going to come off.

I have both a Para C6 and C7. Both are LDA and stainless. I like the fact that they can be carried safely with the hammer down on a loaded chamber, safety off if you prefer. Both function reliably. The C7 is the size of the Colt Officers model and the C6 is small enough for pocket carry. As I said, no issues with either.

Wouldn't that be committing "Carry Parry"?
I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry.

I have an older Para Companion C7.45 LDA and I love it. Mine is stainless also. That LDA trigger is very nice. I have shot a lot of rounds through this pistol and I did start having feeding issues with it in 2008, but Para took care of them with no charge. You can read about it here:

It has been flawless since that issue was fixed.

Here are a couple of pics.
