    22cal 1911's

Since I am going to put a 1911 in my carry rotation here pretty soon I thought picking up a 22cal 1911 would be a good idea. Figure it would be good for practice and fun ti just go plinking with. I have two questions. Other then the puma and the Kimber doe's anyone else make one?

Secondly, I know that the puma mimics pretty much everything about a 1911 but do you know if the sights are changeable? I will have 3 dots on my springer and would want my training gun to have the same setup.

    Thanks!

Have you looked at the 22cal conversion kits. Takes about 15 seconds to switch out.

    Here are a few....

Chiappa Model 1911. I have been looking at it for a while now, and it will be my next .22

    1911 .22 Rimfire Conversion Kit : Cabela's

Marvel Precision 1911 .22 rimfire Conversions

    JAC Hand Gun Conversion Kits
That last one is really the only one that's cost efficient. The puma only costs about 275.00 and both the other kits are over that. I'll see if I can round up some reviews for the JAC. I can see the main benefit of a conversion as opposed to another gun being that you can practice with your primary guns trigger.

Also, a more efficient means of transport. You'll prolly be able to carry the 22cal Slide/Mag in the same case you'll use for your EDC 1911, to and from the range.

Look at the GSG 1911 .22, much better quality than the Chiappa and also much closer to a real 1911.

I just ordered one from Midwest Hunters Outlet the other day. They have them on sale for 283.20

WOW! Looks to be the exact same weight as a government model and seems like it comes with 3 dot sites. I'll definitely look into this.

Everything I've read about them has been really positive. I like it because it's set up like my duty gun - ambi-safety, beaver tail, 3-dot sights. My wife got me a CMMG conversion kit for my AR-15 for my b-day last month, so I'm looking forward having a .22 rimfire set up just like what I take to work. I think it'll be great for cheap, realistic practice since I can use all of the same gear - holsters, mag pouches, etc.
