wife loves pink
I mean she really loves it. SHe has so much pink stuff, I am starting to like it now.
Well, I want to get her a pink handgun for birthday.
She carries a Kahr cw9. Loves it. She doesn't like the pink 38 revolvers, she likes semi auto.
She also doesn't like the pink ruger .380.
I was adverse to pink, as she is such a little lady (5'0", 100 lbs, very petite, like size 0 waist, but size 6 hips and butt, love it.), as I want bad guys to take her seriously if she has to draw.
She isn't afraid to shoot, but if BGs think her cute pink gat is a toy, she will have to.
This is why I would rather make her Kahr pink. It's 9mm, less than 1" thick, melts away in the crossbreed mini tuck on her hip at 4-5 o'clock.
Is it possible to powder coat just the slide? Can it be blue'd, but in pink instead?
I dunno guys, I am very uneducated when it comes to the mechanics of coloring metal.
I know how to make a wicked custom paint job on a PC, and I am an ex US Army feild medic, now an ICU nurse. Metal and color are not my thing, but I do take advise very well.
Thanks guys.

The gun finish "Duracoat" is available in pink, and a website namedwww.jimsgunsupply.com
shows a number of guns Duracoated in pink. Here is an example from the website:

I love my Kahrs, but if you can't get one pink, how about a M&P 9c with pink grips?

My only concern with a weapon having a Pink finish, would be the instant attraction it would have on Children.

Hmm. To each their own. Good thing is that your wife enjoys shooting. The pink leaves me (personally) a little troubled. I like guns that look like guns--tools, a machine--and any kind of candy color coating makes me echo one of your worries--that if necessary to present that weapon, she may not be taken seriously--which could lead to a worse consequence than if she just pulled out a plain and 'serious' looking pistol. Hope what I'm trying to say makes sense. Cutesy colors are fine for cars and computers--but on guns...just seems to turn it into a 'toy' which is as another poster here said, more alluring for kids--it just undercuts the 'threat' factor too much, looking trite and silly.
I see pink handled revolvers and other 'pink' treatments that are geared toward women and sometimes it makes me cringe--I don't want guys to think women can only shoot cute, small caliber weapons. And worse, I don't want a woman to pick one up thinking it's a style accessory, and not a serious commitment to being a safe shooter. I know that's not the case with your wife.
