Have one just like yours (except grips). It's a sweet shooter.

Congrats on the 1911. Before I read your second post I was going to ask you if you had gotten the grips from Esmeralda. I have been looking at exactly those grips for a while now, but I want them slim. Do not forget to write a range report.

Question: Have you had any problem with the small RIA 1911 FTF or FTE?

Reason I ask is I read and hear reports that the 3" or so barrel 1911 have many problems.

Was hoping RIA would be different as their other 1911s are good shooters.

Congrats on the new 1911. Good looking pistol.

Yeah, I've heard about the 3" problems too, but my Kimber Ultra doesn't care, or didn't hear about it cause after seven hundred rounds DR not a single malfunction. Go figure.

Nice new pistol! What did you pay if you don't mind the question... They have really good reviews... the 3" slide is mentioned often about being "less reliable" and I guess its due to the short slide cycle / spring. But I haven't read too many complaints direct from users or specific instances of an FTE etc... It would be nice to have some specific numbers...

Both of my RIA 1911's are very good handguns. I've not had any problems out of them, except a few FTE, FTF on my Full size after painting it. Got a little to thick around the slide area.

Compact with thin grips and a mild de-horn job. Needs better sights the cheap ones I put on aren't very good.

Full Size, bobtailed and trijicon sights installed.
