Sight paint on blued pistols?
Do any of you paint your blued sights with more visible sight paint? If so, what color seems to work best? I just bought a new revolver with a fixed front sight blade and was considering painting the edge of the blade ultra white or red to make it contrast more from the rest of the top strap/rear sight groove.

White nail polish first then followed by a color. The brilliant white really causes the color to pop. Clear coat nail polish on top really protects it from cleaning chemicals.

Friend of mine uses colored chalk at the range depending on the target color. Never tried it but will sometime. He swears by it. Easy to change colors or just get it off.

I put it on all my pistol sights. Never liked the white dots/frames that disappear into almost any light background. I use DayGlo-orange paint (model paint) but the nail polish works well also and comes in an assortment of colors. @$4 at any local Walgrens, etc. Applied over a white base coat, it stands out against almost any background. Plus, not too many BGs are going to wear dayglo colors that makes them stand out. Dark sights don't stand out against dark hoodies. Clean the sight with denatured alcohol first to remove any oils.
