Yup, Dukalmighty called it IMO. The pistol new is around $280 and change around my area. Used you can drop it to $200 or even under. That's what the Gun shops would do, no reason why you shouldn't do it either.
I don't see much use in buying a "used" inexpensive firearm unless it's substantially below "new" costs. Saving $3-400 on a "used" Kimber is one thing, but $50 or so on a used gun that sells under $300 new? Does the warrenty tranfer? If so, maybe. If not, not worth it if something goes wrong (and it does).
Now if it's someone you know and he truely needs the money, you may look at it as contributing to a charitable cause and help him out.
Kel Tec never seems to ask if you are the original owner or not so I dont think thats an issue. They always seem to honor their warrenty.
