    My First 1911

I picked up this Citadel 1911 today. I'm left handed, so I wanted something that came with an ambi safety. I was able to get this, two CMC power mags, and enough ammo to break in the gun for what a local store was selling PT1911 for. I'll take it to the range tomorrow or Monday and do a range report then.

Sounds like a good deal to me! I like 1911s, but can't see myself laying down $1000+ for a carry gun, so I've been looking at the Citadels and RIAs. Looking forward to the range report!

Very nice. I'll have to look into those; I never really considered them

Never heard of a Citadel before. Looks good though; I hope you post a good range report on it. Congratulations on your purchase!

Congrats on the new 1911. I'm fairly new to the 1911 myself so picking out a quality one was a gamble for me, so far so good, I haven't found any reason to go back to any of my other options. My Ultra carry is awesome and I'm way more accurate with the SA trigger than my other DOA options. I handled one exactly like yours at the GS this passed Thursday and it looked and felt like a quality firearm IMO.

Yeah, ring that thing out and let us know how it functions for ya. Here's to hoping ya got yourself a keeper.
