Speed strips also allow for a tactical reload

I like speed strips dues to the profile.
They go well with a 642.
And yes, lint is the only issue I've seen, really a non-issue.

Like others have said, getting your reloads entangled in keys and such should probably be a bigger concern. When I carry my 642 in the warmer weather I shove a speedstrip in the coin/watch pocket of my Levi's, fits perfect and keeps it isolated from keys and other pocket stuff. I also use a Don Hume drop pouch on my belt to carry speedstrips at times. In cooler weather I'll carry a strip or two AND one or two speedloaders in my weakside jacket pocket.

Question for the revolver guys among us. For those of you that carry speedstrips or speedloaders (which I assume most do), do you carry the reloads on the weak side or the strong side??

I sometimes carry a J-frame when a cannot wear a concealment garment, and I have been carrying my speedloader in my strong side pocket due to the fact that when you perform a reload on a revolver, the weapon will be in your weak hand.
I see that at least 2 folks carry speedstrips on their weakside which confuses me.
I would like to hear some opinions of others on this.
    Thanks,

sarhog - I think it is all down to chosen personal reload method.

I'd not reckon that all folks by any means hold gun in weak hand for a reload. I actually hold it in strong hand with fingers thru frame - enabling rotation for any sluggish empty droppers and also having good control of cylinder during stuffing the speedloader contents.

Thus I carry my Safariland weak side - well did when only revo carrying It's hard as all get out to remember the reload drill mentally - until I pick up a gun and loader - then it just ''happens''.

I do it pretty much like Chris described as well so gun stays in my strong hand and reloading is done with weak. The only reason I carry a speedstrip in the strongside pocket is that Levi's don't have left side coin pockets and I like having the spare rounds separated from other pocket stuff. When wearing my drop pouch it's at roughly 10:30 -11:00 or so (weakhand).

no problems. i carry one in my right pocket (strong side) for many years. you need to move it to your right side. when you reload, you will use your left hand to hold the gun and your right hand will load the rounds.
