I bought it used, and it showed plenty of wear, but I've never owned a sidearm since that I could shoot as well. I've been drooling over the Springfield Armory website for the last few hours...

I'm 6'1" and go about 220 pounds, so I'm thinking a full size in a good holster ought to be really nice! This is the model I'm drooling over the most
    Oooh... the Springfield Loaded

    I highly approve

At your size, hiding a full size should be a breeze. I'm only 5'6", and with my holster and belt I can pull it off nicely

I'm usually not big into stainless, but for a carry gun it has it's advantages - especially here in Oklahoma where it get's really hot and you tend to sweat. That 1911 sure is a thing of beauty though, isn't it?

Do it! With the right holster, you can tote that baby discreetly, and comfortably, all day long. Recently, I've been toting this ol' 1977 GM (holster wear be damned!):

I'm going to start tucking some money away and get a 1911. BTW, I wouldn't worry about holster wear. A 1911 is always a good looking gun, with or without wear!

That's what I mean - DAMN the holster wear! Here's my favorite, carried almost everyday for the past six years or so, whose Melonite QPQ finish is showing some sexy wear:

I'd like to have a full size 1911 rather than a compact, but how much more difficult is it to CC a full size compared to say a 4" or 3.5" barrel version?

Yes, that is right. The only problem with them is that they are not inside in my safe
