No, the beavertail won't catch on anything. I don't now how many draws in practice and in IDPA I have drawing from concealment but I've never had a beavertail get caught on anything.

I don't post here much. Never really but I lurk a good bit. I've been bitten by the 1911 bug. I looked a full size Para GI Expert today and it seemed pretty nice. The reviews I've read seem to agree that its a pretty good entry level 1911. so here are my two questions. One, do any of you guys have experience with the gun? what are your thoughts on it?
Second, I have some concern about the larger beaver tail hanging on clothing when drawing the gun. Is that a real problem or something I am imagining? How do you avoid it?

I carry IWB and it has never happened to me that the beavertail caught on my clothes when drawing.

I've never had any issues with the beavertail either.
