Should I Buy It? Gen 2 Glock 26
I have to make a quick decision and I don't know much about the Gen 2 Glocks.
I'm at the local gun store and I doubt it will be here long. To be clear, the gun store isn't pressuring me to buy it quickly, but I don't want to miss out on a great deal
Here is the low down.
Gen 2 Glock 26 (seems to be in really good condition)
TFO Sights
5x 11 round mags (10 round mags w/ +1 baseplate)
2x 15 round mags
2x holsters (nothing super fancy)
$499.00
What do you all.think?

If I were to estimate the value of the extras at $200, then the pistol would be $300, which if it is in good-excellent condition it is probably a fair price, in my opinion.

There is nothing wrong with a Gen 2 Glock. (I have a model 23 - Gen 3 and love it). I think thats a fair price with the extras. If you shopped it, you might be able to save $25 but then maybe not. Go get the gun - what's $25.

I would say if you have a use for it then yeah, it's a good deal. If it will probably just end up in the save then I would pass. The extra mags are nice but wouldn't really add that much to the deal for me.

I would definitely use it. I'm looking for my first carry gun (not my first gun), and I've shot and like the Glock 26. I decided not to make a rash decision and buy it this afternoon, though. Rollo, thanks for mentioning that the extra mags don't add much value to you. That got me thinking, and I'm not sure what I would really do with 7 magazines for a single gun. Sure, it's nice to have them, but it's not something I would set out to buy if I got a new Glock so it's just "more stuff." I also found out that there's a gun show in the area this weekend, so I'm headed there tomorrow to see if I can find some good deals.
Thanks for the quick responses everybody.

Sounds like a fair deal. Just make sure you get the internals updated. Even if it hasn't been shot that much, springs and pins are cheap. Then you KNOW for a fact where you are at with it.
Just my $.02. Good luck!

You could sell off 4 mags easily and have much less cash in the gun.

It's more than likely a gen3 G26, as I've never seen a G26 with rails, and that's what distinguishes a gen 2 from a 3...
And that's a fair deal.

I wouldn't really want the extras, so I would probably pass..............
If you want them, or want to take the time to sell them and get a little $ back, it could be worth it.
My dealer sells them new for $479.00 when he has them in stock. Granted, that is without night sights, and he doesn't always have them available.
Wait a minute. Changed my mind after thinking it over. If it is a reasonably clean specimen, I'd take that deal.

Great point, RR. I hadn't thought about the ease of replacing parts on a Glock, so even if it needs some work, it would be fairly cheap to do so.

And that's a fair deal.
I didn't pay attention to whether it has rails, but it has no texturing on the finger grooves on the frontstrap. That's why I think it's a Gen 2. The date on the plus 1 magazine baseplates is 1999, and I assume that the previous owner bought those after getting the gun.
As I said, I'm off to the gun show today so maybe I'll find a better overall deal on something there (read, "cheaper"
). If not, I also like the idea of selling some of the extras to lower how much money I have in the gun.
