With Kahr's, you need to check them and break them in. Some mag springs have been installed backwards from the factory. I love my CM40. It shoots my ammo that I carry perfectly. The smaller and lighter (CM40/PM40 is the smallest lightest .40) the weapon, they tend to have a few issues here and there from my experience.

I keep a round in the chamber all the time on mine. The Kahr literature says the right way to chamber the first round is with the slide release, and it's always worked for me. If you think about it, in the event of an 'event', after you empty the first mag your slide will be locked open and the quickest thing to to do to reload is pop in a new mag and release the slide, so using this method to initially load the pistol is no different than what you'd be doing in a self-defense episode.
I'm in favor of gun control -- I think every citizen should have control of a gun.
