Which 1911 to buy

Just though I would get some opinions before I throw down some cash.
I've pretty much narrowed down my search to 3 models:
1. American Classic Commander
2. RIA compact or compact tactical
3. Springfield GI champion

I would prefer the SA gun but I can't seem to find a used one locally.
I'm trying to keep the price in the $500 range. Which of these models would you guys prefer? Is there one I missed at this price range that I should look at?

I'm also interested in the response to this-mainly the RIA compact tactical.

I'd take the RIA over the American Classic and a Springfield over both provided you can find them within your allotted budget. Everything I read indicates that the RIA is a very good weapon while not much mentioned about the American Classic which is why I don't think I'd buy one.

I should get first the Springfield, and second the RIA.
