    Used Handgun Value

I was wondering if there is a website to check the value of a used gun. I have a G23 with only about 350 rounds through it, and its in very good condition. The range/shop I frequent gave me an offer for trade and I'm looking to compare it. Any help would be appreciated.

keep in mind like a used car lot, they are in the buying business to make $$$$$$$. You will lose alot in selling to a store or pawn shop. I suggest going to gunbroker.com and checking out their prices for said gun. It usually is about 150-200 better on say a 6-700 dollar gun. (or so i've found) Or sell here for free! (I've sold 2 here with great results!)

When i sold my 642 (could'nt hit the broadside of an aircraft hanger with it) they only offered me 175 for it. I got closer to 400 for it on gunboker!

You can probably get $400-$425 online. Maybe a little more or a little less depending on demand and location.

In the stores or private trade? Store around here will give $250-$300 at most. Private trade is $400ish. Of course what they are trading ain't worth as much either.

Used guns in like new condition sell for 75% of new cost. A dealer will only offer you 50% because they need to make some money when they sell it. Been there done that. If you want what it is worth you need to sell it yourself. If you want to avoid the hassle in the future spend 10.00 to rent what your thinking about buying or shoot a friends gun.

That's in store. Depends on condition too. Shoot me a PM and we can chat about it.

Will be renting in the future. I shoot my sig 9mm fine, but not the G 23. I am going to rent a glock 9mm and a sig 40 tomorrow. Hoping that will help determine whether its an issue with the glocks or 40 cal.

If you were in MA, that gun would get $700.

    Cabela's

I have sold several firearms I got "tired" of at Cabela's. For non antique, non specialty weapons they seem to pay about 50% of the retail dollar.

Best thing to do is go to Gunbroker.com or GunsAmerica and see what the used guns are going for. This gives you a good real world price. If you trade you will always lose out period.
