Range report on a new Kimber Tactical Custom ll

Right out of the box accurate! First magazine (stock )Kimber...no FTE's! Seven rounds at 25, and a tight group! second magizine no problems...Third magizine (Wilson) seven rounds, FTE!!! on the sixth. Back to (stock) Kimber mag. No problems. kept stock for two more loads.....no FTE's. Switched to Wilson again for another try...FTE, on the sixth round!! Ironic? .....a thought crossed my brain cell, maybe I'm not fully seating the rounds as I load them in? This was thought after the shooting experience. I alway's read that it was the Kimber mags that were having FTE issues, but this was my Wilson Combat mag!!! any one have any simular issues? I would like to mention, although I'm not the greatest shot,..I was really proud of my groupings! The grip has proved to be better for me, than my other double stackers. I really am impressed with my Kimber and I have a holster coming from Gary Brommeland who emailed me yesterday and said it will be here in a week!!! ........Peace out! Gary

Glad you are loving it! Brommeland too! What a deal. I can't help you on the mag issue - but it does sound unusual. Have you broken it down for inspection and cleaning since the FTE's? Anything unusual?

Call Wilson and tell them. I bet you'll get a new one.

My Kimber TLE II has been 100% with all magazines I have run it with, including the Kimber, Wilson Combat and an old Springfield mag I have leftover from my Champion. I would send the magazine back for a replacement....

Its not unheard of for a 1911 to dislike a particular manufacturer's magazine. It may be a bad magazine or it may be that your gun does not like Wilson mags. The key is to find reliable magazines that your gun likes and use them.

Strange ref the Wilson mag. betcha anything that ANOTHER Wilson will work just fine.

Wilson has great PR. As the above people stated, send it back and they will send you a new mag. ---------

most 1911 will not like some mags. i got several 1911 of different brands (colt, springfield, remington rand, etc...) they all like different mags. got a box full of 1911 mags, from the high dollar down to the mil issue. took several weekends to get the mags matched with the right gun. all of my 1911 mags have paint (different colors dots) on the side to tell me which gun they will work in. your wilson mag does not work in your gun, but it might work in another 1911 gun. i have found that the cheap mil spec mags are one of the best deal going. they seen to work in many different brands of 1911's.

I've used mil spec, Kimber, Colt and Wolff mags in my Custom TLE II and have had no problems w/FTE.
