    Sly's 1911 in the Expendables

Just got through seeing the Expendables with Stallone and company. Sly was carrying a pretty nice looking 1911. I am not a 1911 guru, but would be interested in knowing if any of the 1911 afficianados on this board can identify it. I realize that it is probably a custom job, but I did like its looks.

A custom Charles Daly?? Those were some of the worst 1911's made.
I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry.

Looks like a great action movie with a great cast it's to bad that in real life Stallone is an Anti- Gunner Liberal SOB that think's that no one but him should be able to carry a Concealed gun, I use to admire his action movies & even his " Rocky " movies untill I read, about his anti gun standing's

It was a typical Stallone flick. Sly is the lead, all other big names have bit parts or cameo appearances and, after a slow start, there is lots of action. Fun to watch but you can predict the plot before you go.

Yup, me too. I won't be supporting his or Ahnold's movies with my attendance number or funds.

I saw an episode of "Street Customs" where the West Coast Customs guys were tasked with building that black truck for the movie. A big part of that build was trying to design a hidden gun compartment that popped opent fo Sly. Turned out to be pretty cool with a hidden touch button that released a compartment with a holster. Pretty cool. Been thinking about that for my vehicles ever since.

I do appreciate that now when they make action movies they are improving in their gun play. Notice now they even let you hear the shell casings hit the ground even if the shooting is being done in the dirt hahahahahaha. No but seriously, I like SLY but his choice for a movie will not make me change my mind on the best out of the box 1911's you can get. Kimber anything will do for me just fine. I also have to say for those who like Smith the guys who design their 1911's used to work for Kimber so basically if you get a S&W basic 1911 you are getting a Kimber, plus you get their lifetime guarantee. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/w..._757754_757752
