Perhaps, but the problem is that Taurus still has issues.

I've had a couple of Rugers and they've all worked flawlessly.

I've got a Taurus and I can't get it to work for the life of me. You'd think a revolver would go bang when you pull the trigger....

LCP (which I own, no issues to date, runs perfect)

I might take a chance on a Taurus revolver, and have, depending on the deal etc.... but not one of their autos.

Ruger also has much better customer service as far as shipping, time to get your pistol back etc.....

I would purchase a keltec p3at before a taurus tcp.

I have personally seen too many of them fail miserably.

I have, admittedly been a Taurus-disliker (hate is too strong a word) for some time. I never cared for any of their guns anyway so it didn't really matter. Heck, I have even posted before that "If Taurus is the answer, it was a stupid question".

All of that being said, I went shooting on Friday and wanted to finish off a target with my LCP. I holstered my G23 and emptied the LCP into the target at 20' It wasn't anything to write home about but at 20' whatever was coming at me had a few holes in it's head, ankles and maybe one or two in the shoulder of stomach. My friend was shooting his G19 and did the same with his BU gun. He pulled out a TCP and emptied the mag into his target and it looked much better than my grouping. I asked to see his gun and fired a few mags through it. I have to say, it fit my hand much better than the LCP and the trigger was much smoother. Recoil was the same but with the longer reach I was not pinching my finger or having to readjust my grip between shots. My groups with the TCP were much tighter and shooting the gun was very comfortable.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I am really, seriously considering one of these as a possible LCP replacement.

PS... my local shop has the TCP for $200. The owner says that Taurus told him he could sell the remainder of his stock for whatever he wanted until Dec 31. They let him buy 12 at a huge discount with one mag to sell for $199. After Jan 1st they are requiring dealers to sell them for no less than $299.

    Another vote for the LCP.

Mine has been flawless, and I carry it everywhere.

Seriously get the Ruger LCR instead of the LCP. I had the LCP and it was small but it sucked to shoot due to recoil and trigger pull. The LCR is hands down the way to go.

I would never trust my life to anything Taurus.

I wouldnt even consider taurus due to their spotty quality control and absurd and incompetent customer support. Go with the american made ruger and be glad you did.
