Every see a factory polished stainless steel / bright nickel plated S&W 1911?

I sure never seen or heard of one until about a week and a half ago when I was looking through Bud's Gunshop's used handguns online and came across this one. As soon as I seen it, I knew I wanted it. Bud's had it listed as in excellent condition for $799. The S&W part number Bud's shows for it and is also on the factory box (when I received it this mid-week) is #150102. I did some searching on the Internet on the S&W part number and found only about four or five different people on other gun boards that posted pictures of their SW1911 (#150102) pistols during 2007 and 2008. Haven't seen anything posted on them since early 2009 and appears from what I found that S&W has discontinued them back around mid to late 2008. What few posts I have read on this pistol is the slide is polished stainless steel and the frame is steel that has been bright/polished nickel plated. The grips are called black pearl (S&W factory), which when I first saw it on Bud's I thought the grips were aftermarket added later (the other people that have posted their pistol showed the same grips). Even the two 8rd mags that came with it are polished (Novak brand, which is the mags I believe all these pistols came with from S&W). I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet, but man it sure is a beauty (my pics don't do it justice). Here are a couple of pics I took of it. I usually don't go for the high polished look on my firearms (most are black/blued or satin stainless steel), but this one has won my heart.

About 15-20 years ago I purchased a Colt 1911 in polished factory stainless. I really liked it, but found it a bit too flashy for CC. I later sold it to a LEO friend who carried it on duty. He replced the factory grips with pearl grips and called it his "pimp" gun

I'm seeing a holster made in Black Elephant with a gray alligator trim. MY, that would be a showpiece!

That's pretty and I concur with RamRod, that baby would never see day at the range or anywhere else unless absolutely necessary.

I like the black elephant holster with gray 'gator trim idea. What a rig that would be. Nice find, congratulations.
