Congrats! Very cool firearm, they would be great for a person with meaty hands as they seemed huge when I picked one up.

Nice looking gun! Why'd you opt for the USG instead of the DAO/Sig like variation, are you used to or familiar with 1911's? I was eye balling these things for a while, but in 9mm. A co-worker recently bought on in .40 SW and I really liked the way it felt in my hands a lot!

i was saving up for a 1911 style .45, (as i don't own one) and a chrony for my new reloading hobby. smith or kimber i have't decided yet. i was at the LGS and was cruising the used gun cabinet. picked up a used fnp-45, wish i hadden't done that! everything i liked and 15 in the mag. took it out to their range and ran 50 throught it. walked in and bought a brand new fnp-45usg. all my semi-autos have a safety lever. i was tought by my father when i was young to use the safety everytime. boot reinforcement teaches routine, and i thank him for that. i won't get into a long spew why having one is better than
not. we all have an opinion, i'll just say human error is what it is, and i feel better eliminating one more danger. my choice.

just ordered the ced m2 chronograph. now i have a nice .45 and a chrony in hand. i can start saving and dreaming again for a 1911. long as i don't look in anymore cabinets. ha ha

I came very close to buying that gun...very nice. I ended up buying a HK 45 instead but I really liked the FN as well. I hope you enjoy it and would like to hear a range report. one more dancing banana couldn't hurt.
