    New XD-9 Subcompact!

Mrs. av8er and I were out doing some running around this evening, and decided to stop in and visit at our local gun store. One of my coworkers from the jet job sidelines at the store, and I found myself chatting it up with him and trying to decide between a S&W M&P 9mm compact, and a Springfield XD-9 Subcompact. I quickly fell in love with the XD-9, and within a few minutes I was filling out the paperwork and pulling out my ID.

We had plans for dinner with a friend, and we went straight to the restaurant to eat. I was like a kid on the night before Christmas . . . I couldn't wait to finish eating, say goodnight, and go home to get acquainted with my new pistol.

I'm pretty stoked to get to the range . . . but tomorrow is a busy day. Extensive water damage from a broken pipe=important meeting with the insurance adjuster, and a contractor. I may have to sneak out . . . hehehe.

So, I'm gonna have a newly remodeled kitchen, a newly refinished basement, AND a new XD-9.

It's a sweet gun. I bought one for my wife after she fell in love with the one at the range. If I had shot it before the G19, we would have had 2 XD's! Her's is a very accurate pistol.

Nice piece! I love the fact that Springfield got it right by putting an accessory rail on there sub-compacts.

Congrats on the XD. Excellent choice too. You're really gonna love how it shoots!

I got my XD9sc with the OD frame and XS Big Dot sights. It alternates as either my BUG or my Primary pistol but either way it's with me everyday! Great shooter and very accurate!

I have one too and absolutely love it. Might want to look into getting a Pierce grip for the mags. I like having that extra room.

I've had one for about five or six years and it has roughly 900 rounds through it. Absolutely zero failures of any kind and a really great piece for CC. The only change I've made is upgrading to the 13 round mags and I dual roll pinned my striker retainer pin (inserted an M2x12mm pin inside the standard M3x16mm) for peace of mind.

Hope your insurance dealings were better than mine. I had a major leak over the winter, actually found out it had been going on for some time. The insurance company refused to cover any work, that was after the agent insisted I file a claim. Now they want me to get a bunch of inspections before my policy expires.

I love xd's, I have an XD 40 and a .45acp, Didn't get a compact because it didn't seem small enough for conceal carry, instead got the keltec pf9 which is very thin.
My two xds came with standard white dot sights and I applied glow-on super phosphorescent on them so they are luminescent in the dark,

If you don't want to spend a lot of money on an extra set of sights, check the add on the first page of this forum on the right hand side column, this product as an enhancer, we are applying it on fishing lures, flashlights, etc. stuff that get lost in the dark and such. If you ever lost a remote control you'll know what I'm talking about.
SA weapons are a hoot, we have a couple of 1911's and they rockAnyways good luck with your guns, remember to feed the regularly.
