I've been thinking of adding a 1911 to my collection and have been looking over various manufacturers. I already own one Sig and was looking over the Sig 1911s on their website. Does anyone here have any experience with Sig 1911s?

I have a SIG 1911 that I got as a replacement pistol for a defective GSR (SIG's earlier 1911 line). I only have 200 rounds through it, but so far it hasn't failed in any way except the slide failed to lock back on the last round a couple times. I haven't yet figured out if it was an issue with the magazines it came with or the gun itself. It is very accurate and the night sights mine has are just awesome. I find it very comfortable as well, very pleasant to shoot. After 300-400 more rounds, as long as there are no failures, I may trust it as a defensive pistol. Until then, it is a great range gun for me.
A friend bought a Sig XO 1911. It's a nice gun with a nice finish. We shot about 100 rounds, thus far, and it has been accurate and reliable. The only issue he has had is the slide doesn't lock back every time when the magazine is empty. We will take one of my magazines and see if that helps. If not, I will give you feedback about it.

Hmmm... Slide failing to lock seems to be a common issue this far. I'm thinking Springfield Armory as well, but I already own one Sig and really love it!

I hear they are pretty nice, but honestly I have not shot one.
The Ruger MKIII 22/45 is the worst handgun in history to take apart, but is one of the funnest to shoot...
I love the CCO configuration, and got a Sig Sauer 1911 C3. Apparently the Sig Arms 1911 (early production had some kinks to be worked out.). I trust my life to my gun any day.
Go with a Springfield Loaded model, you won't be disappointed. I was thinking of venturing away from Springers on my last 1911 purchase, and really looking at S&W and Sig's offerings, the Springfields seem like a better deal, and had the features I wanted. The Sig 1911's won't fit in some normal 1911 holsters too, if I remember correctly from my research. That have slightly different dimensions in some parts.
Don't get m wrong, I love my 220, but I think that line of pistols is what Sig does best.
