    Brother just bought a S&W .38 Bodyguard

Just got off the phone with my brother. He went to local dealer to buy a 642 and CT Grips but after talking with one of the gun shop employees, discussing prices - the sales rep showed him one of S&W's .38 Bodyguard's.

He decided to get the .38 BG instead of the 642 & CT grips.

Saved some $$$ from this decision.

I can't wait to get to the range with him.

    Cool

I have a 638 all steel bodyguard which I carried for a brief time and liked the way it handled +p ammo. My wife borrowed it 6 or 7 years ago and the only time I ever see it is when we go to the range and I get to clean it afterwards. Had to go buy a SP101 to compensate myself. I tried the LCR and liked the trigger and light weight and the recoil was manageable with 158 +p but bought the Diamondback because of the flat profile. This is my onduty BUG. Love this little .380.

I have a 649 Bodyguard, and a 638 Bodyguard. Pocket, belt, ankle, SA, or DA it preforms all the jobs. See avatar.

    - I've shot both. The Bodyguard and LCR are very similar when it comes to build quality. IMO, the LCR trigger is much smoother than the Bodyguard's. They both were very accurate, but I'm not a fan of the laser activation of the Bodyguard. You press the button once on top of the revolver to turn it on. A second press turns the laser to a strobe mode and a third press turns it completely off. I'm a huge fan of the Crimson Trace lasers in general and the Crimson Trace grips on the LCR are actually smaller than the factory grips. The instinctual on and off is much more practical to me.

I believe the 649 Bodyguard is the Ultimate pocket gun. My 380's get a lot of safe time since I picked up the 649. Mine rides in a Mika pocket holster and plays BU to my P228. My Bodyguard doesn't have the laser grips and I prefer it that way.
