    Range report M&P

Yesterday I had some time to take my M&Pc 45 to the range. I put it through the normal paces mixing SD ammo and FMJ put around 300 rounds through it without a problem. I was very surprised how well it handled for a slightly smaller 45. It is every bit as accurate as any other pistol I have ever owned (none 1911) and one of the easiest CC .45's I have ever tried too. It is gonna be on my side as my EDC for a while I think I just love how well the platform conseals and handles.
I also took my new colt 1911 out just to shoot up a box I didn't have the time to break it in. I had a few former posts about what to do to upgrade the 1911, and I now realize I need to be kicked in the head. It felt super nice and shot very well i can't wait to properly break it in, but I am sure this gun can out perform my ability so it stays stock "for now" Can't wait to take her back to the range!!!

I like my full size M&P .45ACP. The trigger is a bit rough and heavy, but my M&P 9mm was too, but the trigger pull is now down to about 5.5 lbs and smoother. I think just shooting the M&P burnishes the parts and things smooth out.

I've had an APEX kit for my 9mm for weeks, and haven't installed it because the stock trigger is working so well. I still want to install the kit just to see what happens. Hmmm, this weekend maybe.

I didn't worry much about the trigger pull until after I got 150 rounds through it. I could really tell the difference the more rounds that went off and I am very pleased with how it feels now.

The Apex will help immensely and help with speed a bit. The Apex DCAEK kit will really help with speed. Sights and DCAEK are the first things that I do to my M&P, plus a little Dremel work. One of the best shooting guns I own and I own a number of them, including a handful of the high end 1911's. I love the M&P and shoot them almost every day or two.
Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~Paul Howe
