    Talking 9mm for 1911 guy

I want to get a 9mm for some cheaper shooting. I have had Glocks and never really liked them. I am kind of a 1911 snob, but I don't want a 9mm 1911. Any ideas for a single action, all steel 9mm? Say around $500-$600? I know, I don't ask for much!

They are no longer made but if you can find a Star Firestar M43 that should fill the bill well for less than $500.

    EAA Witness Elite Match.

All steel, SAO, nice trigger, great shooter.

You know, I have thought about that, but I have never seen one in person. Maybe I will have to find a dealer and road trip so I can play with one.

CZ 75 B or the CZ 75 Compact......either one fits your requirements.

Cz 75 can be had in SA but the standard can be carried cocked and locked a la your 1911.

In fact one of the reasons I chose my Cz 75B was for a future 1911 purchase.

A CZ 75 or Hi power seem like the natural choice.

Well, if I could find a high power in that price range that's what I would want. Around here I have only ever seen them for like $800. I will look into the CZ stuff, but I must say the EAA Match sure looks nice.

The Hi Power, 75b and EAA are all very similar. You can get a FEG or FN Hi power for a lot less than an actual Browning if your heart becomes set on a Hi power. At that point though, a CZ would be a much better buy.

If you like 1911s but want a less expensive shooter, look at the Chiapa 1911-22. It's inexpensive, has pretty good reviews, and shoots 22lr. About as cheap to shoot as it gets.
