    New CZ 75 P01 - Should I get it??

I found this new CZ at a local pawn shop a few days ago for what seems a good price ($515.00). I called CZ support today and they said the gun was made back in 2006 he also said there are no recalls on it. It seems pretty light (1.8 lbs per the web site) but then I'm used to my PM9. I'm trying to decide if I should get it.

Also there is a gun show in town this weekend and maybe I can find one at a better price. So I need some advice. I remember reading that someone said CZ's are like potato chips, you can't have just one. Well this would be my first, what should I do?

personally i'd wait for the gun show, u'd probably pay extra, for a new gun. i dont like used guns...just my pref.

bud's gun shop got it online for $547-584 i'd think u'd find prices like that at a gun show?

i stopped by my local gun shop and held the sp01 phantom and the p06 ( 40 version of the p01) and man both felt great. the phantom is lighter and larger than the p06 because the frame is made of plastic...so thats something to think about.

I think it's a decent price. The Bud's price is the cash discounted price. Paying by credit card bumps the price of the pistol to $563-$601 (there's a 3% CC charge) at Bud's. Being that you stated the gun was new, you'd be saving roughly $50 over arguably the cheapest place on the net for a P-01.

I look at gun shows the same as flea markets--places selling mostly junk often at inflated prices. Sometimes you find a jewel, but mostly not.

CZ has an excellent reputation. They tend to be heavier but reliability is great. But as always, with used guns: let the buyer beware. Ask if you can have it checked by a gunsmith. If it's in good shape--negotiate!

The P-01 is without a doubt the most accurate, and most reliable, pistol I have owned in 40+ years of shooting. You will be amazed. When I bought mine I was going to PROVE to all the people who spoke so highly of it that they were wrong. Over a 10 week period I fired 1500 rounds of dirty, nasty, WWB without cleaning it. It was flawless. I cleaned it, put it away, and ate my crow.

I have been eying the P-01 as well as the 2075 mtl. RAMI for some time. I have never heard a bad comment about them (except the potato chip analogy... ) and will likely add both (plus an EMP) to my safe soon.

As an answer to your question, no. Buy two (2) and give one to me for safe keeping...

Heads up, they have been having extractor issues (premature wear). Not a big deal, just don't want ya disappointed when you get it. It's used, and could be on the market because of a worn extractor. Excellent gun, though. Very accurate, soft shooting--two thumbs up, just be aware that there may be some tuning in your future.

CZ makes excellent firearms. However, if you are looking at a warranty it is only to the original owner and for only 5 years. I bought a used CZ 75B and wondered about their warranty so I called CZ-USA. That was the answer that I got. If warranty is not an issue for you, go for what deal floats your boat. Good Luck!

I haven't read that anywhere. I'm aware of a batch of extractor springs years ago being weak, but not the extractor itself. Could you post some links?

The only thing that would change my mind on the deal is the condition of the gun and if you could get one of the "better" models in CZ's range for cheaper or close to that price like the Phantom.
