Anyone here carry a Glock 29?

My primary carry gun is now a Glock 29 SF. I was just checking to see if anyone else carries a G29? I love the 10mm round for it's power.I also have a G30 45acp but I still would rather carry the 29 over it.So all you G29 people chime in here.

My G29 is my primary concealed carry weapon.

I don't own one but I do have the bigger brother, the Glock 20 in Short Frame configuration. I haven't shot it yet but hope to make it my winter carry gun when I'm not too overly concerned with concealment. I already bought a holster and spare mag pouch for it.

I love the G29!!! I've had one 3 years and it's my woods gun. I hike & camp in the same area we bear & boar hunt- so I want something potent. A 30/30 is better choice but it's not so hot to backpack or mountain bike with one. I use a Blackhawk Serpa holster. It's great retention while scrambling or climbing. I carry it some in colder months when I have a coat or jacket for cover. If I had a good conceal holster- I would carry it more.

Prefer my G32 for EDC but my G29 for trips "out west" that involve hiking/horseback riding the back country. Travelling by air, I pack only one pistol that might serve both CCW around "town" and in the "woods" where Yogi and Boo Boo might take umbrage to my presence. Given my, self imposed situational/equipment, limitations, the G29 works well enough for both scenarios with a simple magazine change. Around town in the summer (July 13th ) it's Cor-Bon 135s, other months it's either BB 180 GDHPs or WW 175 STHPs in the gun. In the back country it's DT 200 WFNGCs in the gun. Around town the penetrative ability of the DTs in the spare mag might prove useful if the initial 11 HPs fail to end the festivities . If a "God forbid" with Ranger Rick's furry pals occurs I seriously doubt I'll get the opportunity shoot the DT rhino rollers to lockback, so the extra 10 HPs are a moot point ...

Previously, there was the added benefit to the G29 in that when traversing the great parks one simply unloaded and separated the slide and receiver in the rental 4x4 prior to entering the NP and re-assemble/reload it upon exit. Fortunately, sanity finally prevailed and this bit of silliness is no longer required...in NPs located in Free States anyway ...

Would I prefer the G29 to be as "trim" as my standard frame Glocks? Absolutely, but damn if the G29 doesn't shoot just fine for me in spite of the relative "chunkiness" of the grip and conceal well enough, for my limited purposes anyway, in spite of the thick slide. While the G29SF does improve grip "feel" for me a bit, it does nothing for the thickness of the slide. Besides, if I switch to the G29SF, the anal retentive in me would require doing the same with my G20, G21 and G30 Naaaaaa...

I have a G29 with the +2 extentions on the mags. I also have a Federal Ord 357 Sig barrel for the gun, which shoots flawlessly. NO FTF FTE or stovepiping in the gun with the conversion BBL. I even use the stock G29 mags for the 357 Sig conversion. VERY LITTLE recoil with the 29 frame and the 357 Sig conversion BBL...

It's always a toss up between my 29 or 30 on which one I carry on a given day

It depends on the load. Some ammo is loaded with light powder to mimic performance of a .40S&W. The full power Double Tap stuff is "HOT" and has strong recoil. It's not unbearable & the Glock handles it just fine.

But if you're going to buy a new gun, I'd recommend going with a G33 to begin with. The smaller frame is much more comfortable and you can get both .40 and 9mm barrels for it.

    "Cheaper Than Dirt"

I own several Glocks including the 29SF. While trying to buy ammo from Cheaper than Dirt, they totally lied to me. They are engaging in shameful gun control. The person I spoke with said that they are restricted from selling to Connecticut, a lie and that they could get into trouble, another lie. They have elevated gun control to a level higher than the legislators in CT have. Please do not buy anything from these people. Thanks.

Brought back to life after 3+ years

Well I wasn't expecting a anti-Cheaper Than Dirt (even if deserved) reply in resurrection of a 3+ year old thread.
No internal lock or magazine disconnect on my pistols!
