For the money, the Ruger LCP will do the job within most budgets.

But... Why a .380 now that there are several small new 9mm pocket models available.

I'm impressed with the Boberg XR9. less pricey than Rohrbaugh & 9mm to boot!

Sig 238. Accurate out to 25 yards!

    I like the Kel-Tec P3AT.
I purchased it new when they first came out, over the next couple of years, when .380 was allot cheaper, I put over 2500 rds thru it, with NO problems..

My wife wanted a pistol this size and received from me, a Ruger LCP for an anniversary gift, in of course Raspberry. While the LCP is nicer as far as fit and finish, to me it will not be in the same category as the P3AT until it proves itself Longevity wise. It is much nicer on the hand when fired, which is why my wife wanted the LCP, of course the color has something to do with it.

My FIL fired both the P3AT and the LCP and he also purchased the LCP, No not Raspberry, he got the Texas edition. They are nice guns

My P3AT has since been replaced with a Kahr PM9 for EDC.

Ruger LCP is my choice. Accurate, light, inexpensive. I almost bought a new Sig P238 ($350 new) which was an awesome deal but it was heavier than the LCP and wouldn't be much different than carrying my Jframe in my pocket. Also I just don't like carrying a SA gun in my pocket.

"pocket 9mm" can be carried in your pocket successfully BUT a 380 has its place. Pocket 9s are a bit big for the pocket.

NAA Guardian is a solid gun... and heavy... compared to the .380 crowd. But many folks like theirs.

I own and conceal a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 380, I really wanted a Sig Sauer P238, it is pricey and single action only. I am very happy with the overall performance of the BG380, the recoil is very light. I also bought and conceal a Sig Sauer P290 9mm, it was less expensive than the P238. It seems if the firearm slightly resembles a 1911, you are going to pay extra for the resemblance.

    Checking out local prices:

    Sig P238 $600.00
    Sig Laser $150.00

I can purchase 2 Bodyguard 380s for the price of 1 Sig P238 with laser.

I think there's a limit to how small a gun can be. If it's TOO tiny, it's very difficult to hit anything with it beyond about 3 feet. Further, if you do literally carry it in your "pocket" you're going to be full of bullet holes by the time you dig it out and get it into battery. I personally carry a P238 OWB, loaded with Buffalo Bore 100 gr. hard cast flatpoints. They will blow a 1/2" hole clear through anybody (32" in gelatin), including a car door. I can draw and commence firing at a rate of 5 shots per second in less than 3/4 of a second. And it's so comfortable and compact I usually forget that it's there, and it hides completely under anything, even a t-shirt. That works for me. If it were down deep in a pocket? Forget it. No way.

When I said Sig P238 accurate to 25 yards I meant shooting offhand. This miniature "1911" is just the finest small carry pistol on the market. The next time I go to the range I'll set up some sandbags to rest on and let er rip. See how close I can put them together. Plus the Sig night sights are the brightest sights I have ever seen. They really glow.
