    Just bought a GLock 19....

I just used my GSSF certificate to get myself a Glock 19. I get to pick it up soon and I am anxiously awaiting it. It will probably be my daily carry gun and my off duty gun once I get hired by a certain department with which I am applying.

I am going to pick it up on Monday and have the slide sent to Glockmeister for some new night sights. I will also be getting a Glock 17 trigger for it and an extended slide release as well as a plug for it.

I am waiting now and for the next three days I will be bored.

Congrats, I've had mine around 18-19 years, may it serve you well.

What Generation? 3? 4? I just handled a Gen. 4 19 for the first time a few days ago, and I was fairly impressed. A lovely lady of my acquaintance bought it not long after I looked at it, so I'm hoping to shoot it someday, with her indulgence (and in her presence) of course...

I would hold off on a new trigger and such until you break it in and see how she works for you. I love all my Glocks they have never let me down. For the 9mm I really like the Federal HST rnds in 124 grain. I personally test all my carry ammo and the HST's are performers. If you haven't decided on a holster check out the Bianchi Carryloc series. I really think it is one of the best OWB holsters for CC, or Open Carry. The retention lever is placed so naturally that you don't even think about hittiong it, it just happens. I have used a lot of different holsters in the 14+ years I have been CCing. From custom leather to Don Hume holsters and for down right quality I love the Carry loc holsters, just wish they were available for more weapons.

Congrats on your new Glock-19, probably the best of a great gun, and my next purchase.

After about a decade of bouncing from carry piece to carry piece, the Glock 19 won me over hands down without even trying hard. Enjoy yours.

I carried one for almost 20 years before i switched over to a Glock 23. The G19 is a great gun.

The G19 is IMO the best "all around" defensive handgun out there. It pretty much does everything, and does almost everything VERY well. Congrats.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Can't say anything more than what's already been said. I carry the 19 as my EDC. Congrats!

I switch between my Olive G19 and my Ultra Carry 1911 for some reason. Not really sure why though =)

    Great selection.
Reliable, accurate, durable, light weight, easy to carry, conceal, and shoot.
I use my 19 in pins, plates, bullseye, GSSF, and practical shooting competitions, has over somewhere between 90000 and 100000 rounds through it, and it's been 100%.
Take a look at Truglos, Ghost trigger, and a Lone Wolf guide rod.
It's also my carry gun, next to the keyboard as I type.
    Congratulations.
