I've been researching this for my SP101 and I'm going to get TruGlo Tritium Fiber Optic. Likely going to get some for some of my other handguns as well. Check them out...I was very impressed with them in comparison to other options, but I don't have them yet to give you a 1st hand perspective from experience.

Had a Meprolight front night sight on my SP101 and I really liked it. This front sight is also a little lower than stock so higher velocity bullets will shoot closer to point of aim.

I really like the Mepro I put on my SP101. It gets carry duty often, sometimes at night. The bigger dot is easy to pick up and put on target fast. It's not bright like a fiber optic but does the job very well in low or no light.

Yea I like the Truglos. But Im looking at the Truglo website and they dont list any sights for the SP101. In fact I dont see where they show sights for any revolvers. But I could be missing something.

A fiber optic is only good for daylight, I put a Trijicon front sight on my Ruger SP 101 and it is a perfect sight for these six decade old eyes day or night.

I could have sworn I saw a TFO for the SP101 somewhere (optics planet maybe) because I wrote it down in my notebook as what I decided I wanted for it. I could have been mistaken...according to my wife, I've been wrong on numerous occasions!!!! I'll have to look. Seems the Mepro has a pretty good following, I'll have to look at that too.

XS now makes the Big Dot sights. The tricky part is, they do not advertise that they make a sight for the SP101. Don't ask me why, cause I don't know why they do that. Anyway, the sight for S&W J frames and the SP101 is the same sight. It even says so on the package once you get it... its just not listed as such on their website or any catalogs that I've looked at.

This is the Standard XS, not the Big Dot.

How do you like the "standard" big dot- been thinking about putting one on my SP101.

I love it. The tritium vial is the same size on both, but the white outline is just the difference between the two. I have another snubby that has the Big Dot on it. Can't go wrong either way, but I think I like the Big Dot a bit more.

Plus one on what others have said about just calling XS directly. They don't advertise the sight as fitting the SP101, other than on the packaging.
