Ive got the ultra carry 2, same size and weight, and with my upgrades basically the same thing as the CDP at this point, I love it. Go for it if you can afford it.

My fear exactly. I wonder how close in size the two are? The nice thing about a Glock is the fact that you can boil it in salty battery acid and then fire 10k rounds without any lube.lol

GLOCK will stand up better to moisture and you could probably buy 2 of them for what one Kimber will cost you not to mention the GLOCK will be ready to go once you open the case.

I live in Houston and have both, concealed carry both. The G36 nice choice for the summer but my Ultra CDPII is the best out of box shooter I own so it is my preference unless I will be outside all day during the summer.

    I'd go with the G36.

Kimber is a great handgun and the 1911 is a fantastic firearm, but in terms of durability, reliability and price you will not be able to beat the Glock 36.

Of your two choices, I'd go with the Glock.

I own and carry both a G36 and Kimber CDP Pro and a Ultra Carry. The G36 is on my side as I type this. As far as size the Ultra Carry and G36 are nearly identical, also in weight (haven't weighed them just going from feel). The Kimber will give you one extra round in the gun itself. If you carry two extra mags then you can gain a total of 3 extra rounds. The CDP Pro is going to be longer and taller and is really not comparable to the G36 in size. I've never had any rust on my Kimber, of course I live in about as low of humidity as there is. So my thought is if you go with a Kimber than buy the Ultra CDP if you want comparable to the G36. They are both great and definitely fill the requirements for a sub compact 45.
