    New Ruger SR40

    Ruger SR40 in .40 S&W is here!
It has taken long enough, but finally the .40 S&W chambered version of the 9mm Ruger SR9 has arrived. Ruger has been shipping the SR40 to dealers during the past week. The one pictured below is being sold on GunBroker.

    The MSRP is $515.99

    I should rather get a Glock or a M&P.

I'd be curious to see the SR40c when it comes out.

Ruger's introduction of the SR9 in 40 caliber is something I've been waiting for since the introduction of the SR9. I was sorely tempted to buy the 9mm version but didn't because I prefer the larger bullet. I will certainly be a buyer. Looks like a home run product for Ruger.

Regarding Glocks and M&P's. They just don't do it for me. They both look too much like an ugly stick IMO.

I am not a Glock or M&P guy at all; I like SA. But I think that the SR9ís trigger is even worse than the Glockís trigger. In addition, I do not like manual safeties.

Without making a judgement ABOUT the new gun, I wouldn't buy anything 'new' until it's been out for a year or two...i'm just sayin'

This has been particularly true of the recent Ruger firearms. They have had growing pains with their LCP, SR9, and SR9c. But, Ruger is a great company and they will make things right without hesitation!

Somebody's got to give it as try and find the bugs, just not me. I hope it works well, OP.

As for Glocks and M&Ps being ugly? Nothing pretty about a hammer, but it sure gets the job of driving nails done. Tools are functional; art is pretty. Sometimes something can be both, but what's the priority?

I will stick with my XDs or a Sig, Glock, H&K, M&P. I'm just not a fan of Ruger's semi-autos.

Wish they would come out with a single stack 9mm sized about like a PM9...
