Awesome!!! I really like Ruger firearms, I've got 3 of them (Police Service Six, SP101, P95). Are you planning on carrying IWB or OWB? I'd like to find a good holster for my old Police Service Six (the predacessor to the GP100 series) and carry it. Let me know what you end up going with. Nice acquisition!!!

That's nice. Looks just like mine. I hunted and hunted and found some of the old style grips they used to put on them for mine. The grips with the wood panel inserts. They feel better to me. I know you'll enjoy it. Real fun shooting .38's in it.

Congrats but.... I'm leery of ever letting a good weapon go for any reason. Save up and get more, but don't reduce the home armamentarium. That Rossi could have been the dedicated "den gun" or backup firearm in the guest room. It could have been relegated to "truck gun" status or all manner of other useful purposes. A good Rossi is worth keeping - I've won IPSC awards with mine and while I like my 686 more, the Rossi is a solid contender.

Of course, the Ruger is a good gun, too. You didn't do anything "wrong" per se here, as the GP is a real tack driver and should eat as much ammo as you can feed it for the rest of your life.

Nice choice. I'm lusting over the .44mag Redhawk KRH-444, myself. A decent Ruger revolver is rarely a bad decision.

A suit and a ten-inch Ruger on the hip? That'll work.

I've got a Rossi 642 .357 and a Ruger GP100. I hate to slam Rossi but saying you made an "upgrade" is an understatement. When I first started buying guns I didn't know anything about them. I would buy something because it was inexpensive. It didn't take me long to learn my lesson.
