Bought a new gun today.... was it a good price?
I ordered this today from Buds
Kimber Compact Stainless I

My question is, what should one of these cost? From what I understand, they are getting difficult to find these days, and very expensive. I've been waiting for almost two years to find a series I Compact, and just so happens this is the only one I could find anywhere this week. The Ashely Express Big Dot night sights are a nice addition also, especially if they really are only a year old.

I don't know anything about them, but it sure looks purdy!!!!
I'm sure you'll like it. If you're happy with the price then it was worth it.

Exactly. The only opinion that really counts is yours. Congratulations on your new pistol!

New I would say around 900 and that's not with the ashley sights, used with the sights im guessing around 800, without the ashley sights 750.

That's what I was thinking. My LGS has a Compact CDP II for a little over $1200. This is the third gun I've ordered from Bud's, and the other two were well below LGS prices. I did however pick up a S&W 638 for $385 + tax, that came out to $2 more than Bud's, but no transfer fee. It's the only gun I've went to buy that was overall cheaper that ordering it online. I was quite impressed that the store had it at such a low price.
My only other gun right now is a Colt New Agent that I got used at a killer price for the amount of stuff I got with it. Like I said, I've been wanting a Kimber Compact forever, but never could find one until now that I could afford. I hope to eventually add a full size or two again also for fun at the range.

Agreed Ram Rod. If your satisfied, then the simple answer to the thread question is "yes". Nice weapon too! I've never shot one, but I know from reputation that Kimbers are real nice quality pistols.

Youd pay 860 for the gun w/o the sights, in a series 2, which is much less desirable than yours. $1000 would be very cheap for this gun, and $1200 certainly wouldn't be over paying.

I don't know how I'm going to make it through next week waiting on the gun to get here. Bud's normally takes about 4-5 days to get it here, so I'm crossing my fingers for Friday. I think my FFL is just as excited to see it as I am.
