I went down to my favorite "toy" store again just to see what they had. I was still thinking about getting a Sig Sauer P226 or P229 in 9mm. It turns out they a barely used P229R in 9mm on consignment for $775. I ended up putting it on layaway and they were really flexible with me by allowing me to put down a little less than they usually require.
The P229 fits my hands like a glove, almost better than my Glock 19. The one I put on layaway also came with a light and light mount for the gun which I thought was pretty cool. Does the P229R normally come with a light and mount?

Nice guns.... I have a P229 in 9mm and I traded a Glock 22 for my P226 in .40S&W.
Yes they fit well in the hand... As per the light and rail, the R models have the rail as part of the frame and lights are not normally included.
I have the SIG tactical light/laser on the rail of my P226R. I really like it.....
Welcome to SIGness
Very nice...I have the older brother the P228...Love it.

Sigs are great guns. I really like them in 9mm a lot and miss my P228. They are accurate and built like tanks.
Congrats - Enjoy it and let us know how it does at the range!!

I want a Sig soon, too. A P220 Carry to be exact. I don't know what to buy first. Springfield 1911 GI, FNP-45 USG, the P220, Rem 700 or a Yugo M70.... sigh... Or dump money into the car.... ehh
Congrats on the new purchase. Sigs are nice to shoot :)
