I had to pick the Semi Auto although I do have a revolver in the rotation. 75% of the time it is a SA, the other 25% is the revolver.

It just depends on what I am doing that day, and how I am dressed.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

I used to be all semi-auto and never understood why anyone would carry a revolver over an auto. After getting my ccw a few years ago I found that very few autos are what I would call comfortable for all day carry. About 3-4 hours and i was ready to get it off me. Along came the LCR .357 in a Nemesis pocket holster and I sold all of my autos. I can carry the LCR all day and even forget it's there. I sometimes worry about capacity so I carry two speedstripes in my pocket for a total of 17 rounds. Yeah the reload my take longer but unless you're in gang territory I don't believe that would be a big problem. I have also thought of getting another LCR in .38 to carry as a backup and load my strips with .38+p for reload in either gun. That would be 10 rounds before a reload. So, put me down as a converted revolver man.
Confidence is the feeling you have before you realize the full measure of the situation.

EDC is an officers model 1911, I used to be a wheel gun guy but I'm just so much more accurate with a 1911.

I voted "revolver" based on the posting question of primary CCW, as my principal weapon is usually a S&W 642 (OWB or fanny pack) or Taurus 85 (in my briefcase, to and from the office). I also carry a semi-auto just about all of the time (KT P32 in my right front pants pocket - at home, in the car and at the office).

Maybe I have been carrying my revolver more than I thought as my memory is getting bad as I get older.

I carry a semi, most of the time. When I carry my 442, it's usually playing a supplemental role.

Thanks for the advice. I'm in search of the ultimate single stack 40, 45 or maybe a 9mm. I'd like to get something DA/SA or SA only with a 1911 lock. and no, I don't want to spend a fortune on an EMP.

I'm 51. Which side of the great demographic divide am I on?

    I'm so confused!

At your age, things are looking precarious for you. You may well be on the divide...edge...slippery slope, take your pick. I'm a couple of years ahead of you so can attest that the confusion only gets worse.

If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. That's ridiculous. If I have a gun, what in the hell do I have to be paranoid for?

It is a 3.5 inch 1911 rock island for me. I really, really want a LCR .357 or SP101 though. Yes I said really, really!!LOL!
The 1911 is an antiquated weapons system but then again, so am I.
