    Looking to buy another 1911

    Im looking to buy another 1911 but not really sure what do buy i have a kimber 1911 ultra raptor 2 and im giving it to my dad. i though about another kimber,springfield or even a sti but not really sure so im asking for your guys help. i would like to stick with the ultra compact 1911s

    Look at the Colt Defender if you want to stay at 3" - 3.5 "-I really like mine.

    If you can find one...I'd be looking for a Dan Wesson CCO. Same grip length of your Raptor (approximately) but with an extra inch on the barrel for added accurracy. I'm generally not a Kimber fan...but I do like my buddy's ultra raptor. Nice gift for your dad!

    I think the biggest bang for the buck is a Baer TRS. But there are several nice 1911s out there.

    If your looking at Ultra Compacts. As others mentioned, check out the Colt Defender. For me it's the perfect for concealed carry, plenty accurate and the .45 acp is a proven stopper on the battle field as well as the streets.

    Get the Kimber, I can assure you that you can't shoot better then the gun can. If you got 2,300 buy a Wilson and your groupings won't be any better then the Kimber's, but you will have a real expensive gun that all your buddies can pat you on the back for.

    yeah im thinking about getting another kimber or i also thought about getting a rock island compact 45 3.5 inch barrel and just build it up do you know if they sell alot of after market parts for that size like barrel, things like that cause i know they sell everything for the full size 5 inch.
