    No longer produced?

My favorite off duty personal defensive carry handgun is a S&W CS45. I've had it for several years ago. I think it was still listed on S&W's website in 2009 but not anymore.

I'm wondering how many of you are routinely carrying a defensive handgun that is not longer in production.

Well, I have taken to carrying the 21-4, which I think has been discontinued, as well as the model19/66. There are several I would like to see them bring back though.

Not any more, but I used to carry a Walther P38, and it was not only discontinued, it was an antique at about 50 years old when I carried it. It came very close to saving my life too.

But as I've matured, I determined that modern pistols offer a great deal of advantages, chiefly with lighter weight and more capacity. But also with reliability and safety.

I carry a 228. While it is still produced in limited numbers, it hasent been mass produced in a number of years.

I'm guilty too. I do my best to avoid most of what is turned out these days.

Not routinely, but my 4566 and CZ-82 have been known to slip into the waistband. And if I had my old '64 GTO, I'd drive that too, even though it's "out of production."

Jeeeze, I think all mine are out of out of production. Colt Pocket Nine, Colt Govt. Model .380, S&W 4516. All great wepons, and would trust my life to all of them.
Still feel they are the best wepons ever made.

Yeah, I carry no longer made guns as well. Mostly pinned barrel S&W revolvers in "K" frame size or Colt Government Models of Series 70 or prior design.

I just cannot warm up to new guns.

I may break down and buy a H&K USP Compact in .40 S&W, but haven't made any serious inquiries yet.

Virtually all of the third generation S&W automatics have been discontinued and are no longer being made.

The only exceptions are the two 9mm target models from the S&W Performance Center.
