Very nice of you and a nice looking piece. In addition, should she decide at some point to move up the 642 is there.

That was part of my thought process. The manual of arms is identical and she is not a "semi-auto" gal. I think the .22 mag will be more than enough for her needs. i tend to think that it is a very potent little round, even out of a short barrel. I know that rifle barrel velocity increases dramatically but a revolver of this sort is only used within a maximum distance of 20 feet anyway. I know she liked it when she said "ohh, the wood handle is pretty".

They do have a lot of flash and blast from the snub barrel, choose your ammo carefully. Like many .22 rimfires there may be a load that out performs the others in your particular gun. If you decide to get action work, make sure you get a gunsmith who knows how to make the rimfires run, too. It's easy to "gunsmith" them into unrelaible paperweights.

It is pur-T, no doubt. She chose it based on what fits and works for her. That means she will be much more likely to practice with it, carry it, and use it. Good decision process. Since most agree that shot placement is most important, practice is key. I would recommend a heavy solid round for that particular weapon. Others may have a specific round recommendation as to brand, weight, etc. I have a rifle in that caliber and use hollow points, but the short barrel may not reach velocities to expand. Happy shooting and Congrats!!!

I have the same gun. I love it when something light is needed. Carried over summer with shorts and tee shirt. It has a nice pop and decent fireball when shot. I run Fiocchi 40 gr. Jhp in mine and they are strong performers. Great price on Dans ammo. Enjoy that new gun.
It's not a problem til they make it one!

Nice, I decided to check out your thread and pics because I recently stumbled across another smaller cal mag that got my attention. The 327 mag. Like another poster mentioned, perhaps with some time in the saddle, your little lady will graduate to something larger caliber.

Nice . My biggest concern would be reliability of primer ignition out of a .22.

That is a very nice looking and well balanced defensive revolver. So much for staying away from the gun shops to keep my temptations in check! By the looks of your other photos I have to say that you have good taste.

Thanks Saber. I like to think I have a discerning eye. I just hate it when my discerning eye writes checks that my modest income has trouble cashing.
