I made a little extra paperwork for my gun dealer today by buying two guns inside of a week I went to look at the M&P 40c and ended up leaving with the 9mm. I figured a little less recoil in the smaller frame, plus I can see me phasing out my P9, so what the hey.
It might be weird, but just from holding the gun I prefer the larger grip insert, whereas my full size M&P I like the small insert. I've yet to shoot it though. Of course it started to rain on the way home, so maybe later if it lets up. I'm interested in seeing how I like it without the pinky extension compared to with. Do most of you carry with or wtihout the extension on the clip?
And my holster shipped today, so with a little luck I might be able to see how it prints either way by the weekend.
Congrats and enjoy!

Great gun, you will most definitely be pleased with your decision!

The trigger isn't as nice as my Pro Series, but I liked it better than the other guns I tried. And I really like the feel of this gun in my hand more than the other compact guns I tried... which shall remain nameless, lol. Someone mentioned an addiction to Glocks. I may have become addicted to these M&Ps...
I had my an M&P 9mm and I shot better with the pinky extension.

APEX Tactical DCAEK kit....install it....and you'll never sell your M&P. I only say this because I bought my 3rd M&P 2 weeks ago. Congrats on your purchase!!

Pinky extension does make it easier to shoot. Although it is not need.. but here is something you should check out. Make your compact grip into a full size for target/range time. http://www.topgunsupply.com/x-grip-s...p-compact.html

If you find yourself in a fair fight your tactics stink.
Welcome to the M&P family! By the way, America thanks you for the purchase!
Ccccccc what? Ccccccccccc Hawks!
I keep the mag w/pink/extension on pistol, and use the one w/o as spare.
Shoots alright w/o, but i want to get the xtension for the other one as well.

I was thinking about getting the extension for the other mag as well, but it does shoot fine with my pinky on the bottom of the grip. Practically zero recoil, which I was not expecting in a compact.
I think I saw that grip extension on an SR in the case, Spec.
Two new pistolas AND a holster? I'd say that this has been a great week...enjoy!

The M&Ps are really great guns. Superb ergonomics. Great build quality and sight picture.
The p-extension is up to you. Try it both ways, on and off, and decide for yourself.
