I say go with the TCP. I owned a LCP and although reliable it was a snappy little sucker to shoot. I eventually sold mine and after several months a friend talked me into the TCP. It's not a "take to the range and put 500 rounds through it" kinda piece, but I found it to be far more accurate and an easier shooter.

Let them talk about Taurus problems, not any worse than Ruger problems. Just my two pennies worth.

I wish I had a script made that when I hit one key it said "Buy The Bull and Get The Horns!" this way I can respond to these weekly threads with ease.

My TCP has been flawless with everything although Buffalo Bore +P rounds (which several other .380's are not designed to handle) do hurt by the 2nd mag full.

My Taurus 709 (slim) on the other hand has been a nightmare & is on it's third trip back to CS in 2 months for same problem.
I must state that the 1st & 2nd trip to CS had a 2-3 day turn around time.....most impressive although the problem was not fixed.....it has now been about 2 weeks for this 3rd time back.

There's all the reviews you need. If it was one in a batch of several that a shop got in, then maybe I could say it was an aberration. But the first two, BOTH, break in short order? Nope, that is indicative of a quality problem with the line.

My unscientific research of owning 2 Taurus guns and reading forums is that Taurus is 50/50 chance on a good gun. My tcp SUCKED, my M85UL is a champ. my $.02

Just gat an email from Taurus (Thurs. 4th) after writing this......it is being overnighted back to me today & should be at my house by 1030 Friday.

I will go to the range today & get back with another report....gotta admit their CS has been fast if nothing else.....
