How are these little pocket guns as far as reliability goes? I handled one today and really liked how it fit my hands for such a small gun. I also liked the fact it has a slide stop and it seems to be well made,So whats the verdict on these guns?

Snub nose revolvers, the original concealed carry guns.
I've put about 200 through mine and haven't had an issue. It's always with me either as a BUG or a primary if I need deep concealment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I had one too and no problems with it. I hope this helps. God Bless![]()
Why does almost every post about a Taurus start by questions about their reliability or quality. You hardly ever see these about S&W, Glock, or Sig.
Not a Taurus hater, but it sure doesn't look good.
The first two we got in the shop where I work broke in a very short time.

Mine has an issue reliably feeding the last round in the magazine. The nose of the last round will lift the slide catch and hold the slide open about half the time.
Mine has worked perfectly. 400+ rounds through it (FMJ and JHP ). Not a single FTF for FTE. Slide lock has worked flawlessly. It does have a bit of kick and after 50+ rounds it gets a little painful. I would recommend it to others.
The one I HAD was not reliable. Put less than 200 rounds thru. It did not like FMJs at all even tried several brands and HPs were just a little better. Probably 2 out of every 10 rounds had some issue. That just is not
exceptable for SD gun so i traded it for a Ruger LCP and i love it so far. Just my .02 cents
Use wisely your power of choice
Mine has about 250 rounds through it with no failures of any kind. Great little gun IMO.

Seems as though they are hit or miss from what I've seen. Lots of folks get "good ones" that are proven reliable, while others,...well, aren't. Unfortunately Taurus has had a rash of reliability issues as of late, and while they offer a lifetime warrenty, I've seen/heard horror stories about actually getting a weapon fixed and back in proper working order.(NOTE: I'm NOT a Taurus hater either.)
I suggest looking into a Keltec p3at, Taurus(and Ruger with the LCP.) copied their design to make the TCP. They should be in the same price range. I bought one many years ago, it proved VERY reliable, and made the mistake of trading it in,...Since then, I've gotten another one with CT laser grips thats been just as reliable as my first one. Great weapon for BUG, or deep concealment. (Keltec also has a lifetime warrenty, and their CS has a better reputation.
OMO YMMV
Go with an LCP, you won't be disappointed.
Mine was a nightmare. I wanted it to work, but after 3 trips to Miami I traded it in. Get a Kel-Tec or LCP.

What's bad about Taurus is their customer service. It took almost 3 months for them to replace a Rossi revolver that broke after only having it 2 weeks. Most of the time they take about 2 months to repair. every once in a while someone will get one back quickly but that is not normal. Smith & Wesson has about a 2 week turn around and they will pay shipping both ways. With Taurus you have to pay to ship to them. Having a problem is understandable. Taking months to resolve that problem is not.
No problem with my Taurus after 200 rounds.
