My current house gun is a Glock 34 that is loaded with Remington 124gr Golden Sabre JHP in a 33rd G-18 mag. I also usually have either my Glock 26 w/15rd mag or my Springfield Armory 1911A1 close by.
I also have a Remmy 870 loaded with Federal Buck Shot and Slugs very close by.
I'll be your Huckleberry!! I have two guns! One for each of you!
I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six!

Primary is my carry weapon; it and a maglight are readily accessible. Remington 870 loaded with #4 buck at each end of house and 38 revolvers in the other bedrooms. 870s have served well in dispatching rabid raccoons.

870 marine magnum with high brass #4 shot backed up by my wifes G23 with 13 rounds with one in the pipe and normally my G19 with 15 round mag with a +2 base and one in the pipe and an M3. If that doesn't get the job done than hopefully the tv remote or cordless phone will hurt when I throw that at them.

Mossy 500 w/ 6 rounds of Hornady 00 TAP buckshot. When dressed, I have my 1911sc on me. If sleepytime, not only have I got that shotty within arm's reach, I've got a Springfield XD45 and a Sig GSR within arm's reach as well.

My primary house guns are my carry guns because those are the ones within easy reach. Everything else except for my other house gun - my Winchester Mod. 97 - is locked up in the safe. I've been burglarized once already, thank goodness for gun safes!

1911 in the nightstand. No kids in the house.
In the car is a cheap Rossi .357 snubby.

i love my 1911 for my primary carry piece. but for home protection, an 870 with mag extension loaded with 00 buck is my personal choice. nothing says protection like the racking sound of a pump shotgun.

Carry guns are pretty much it. There's a Winchester 500 also available but it doesn't move through the house with me (unfortunately).
Everything else is in the gun safe.

I alternate my carry and home guns between my Glock 45GAP and my Glock 40. One on my hip and the other in bedroom.
