    Colt Pony .380?

Does anyone here have one of these guns? If so how do you like it and how reliable are these guns? Also do these guns use the same magazines as the colt mustang and government .380 model guns?

I've got one. Mine is pretty reliable, although I had it worked over by Scott, McDougall and Associates with their carry package. What I have is the all stainless model, so it's heavier than the alloy pocketlite. Yes the mags are the same as the mustang and gov't. The pistol easily slips into a front pocket, although I prefer to carry my PM9 as it seems lighter and not much bigger.

I have a Colt Govt 380. The magazine is +1 round more than the smaller Pony magazine - so the Pony mag will not fit in the Govt model.

oops, that's right, the Gov't 380 mag will work in the Pony (and stick out a bit) but not the other way around as the Pony mag is shorter.

I've had the Gov't .380 for a while now & I really like it. It's been super reliable & is a great little CCW

I have two Mustang Pocketlites and a .380 Govt. They all work well. The only Pony models I've handled, including one I shot, have had pretty awful triggers. I used to own a couple of Pocket Nines, and their triggers were bad; extremely heavy. They were reliable, though.

I had one in the 1990s. The slide stop hole on the slide peens very easily. I had the slide replaced once by Colt. It started happening again. I hardly put many rounds thru it.

It was accurate and reliable, but I sold it because I didn't want to have to deal with that issue anymore - there is no replacing the slide now. The stainless metal seems to be rather soft. I have seen this issue talked about a lot with this model gun.

The non stainless model does not have this issue.

I have it's big brother the Pocket Nine. EDC for me. Great handgun, put about 100 round through it without a falt. Also have the Govt. model .380, and it is also very reliable.
If you can get one at a reasonable price, I would go for it. They are demanding more money these days. I was loking for a Pony myself, but in my area they were more than
I'm willing to spend, when I could find one.

had a pocketlite when they 1st became available. 1st one went to colt twice and than was replaced
2nd on went back twice also and i was issued a store credit.
did share mags. though some were better feeders than others.

too much was wrong with the early released ones to fix. i live one town over from colt and its not a problem for me to go back and forth.
one day turn-a-rounds. same with the pocket 9 . but the Defender---thats a GREAT gun.

upside of that experience was that Colt and i got along real well and they have me to do little things occasionally.
    is fun.

I have yet to see one hit the shelves yet, but here is an interesting youtube vid. Supposedly the Colt .380 Mustang Pocketlite is being re-introduced.
