Mec-Gar XD-40 15rnd Mag Questions

I'm curious to know your thoughts on the Mec-Gar brand of magazines. I'm specifically interested in their Springfield Armory XD-40 extended 15rnd .40 S&W mag's. I can't tell for sure, but the extended 15rnd mag looks to be the same size as the standard 12rnd, but it's impossible to tell from the only image I've seen online and am curious to know. Has anyone here ever purchased any of their magazines? Pro's & Con's? Does anyone know if the 15rnd mag extends out of the mag well or us flush like the 12rnd.

Just as a general FYI MecGar manufactures the magazines for many of the gun makers. Many times the "factory" magazines are MecGar mags.

Springfield Armory Original Equipment OEM mags are MecGar magazines but, I can't answer any of your other more specific questions.

I found a thread at XDTalk.com that gave me more insight: http://www.xdtalk.com/forums/sa-xd-x...roblems-2.html The gist is that there appear to be issues w/the .40 mag's, but not the others in their line. It's a feed issue. You can fix the problem by cutting down the runners.

I don't know if I'll get them or not, but would need to run anything that my life would depend on thru its paces before adding to my CCW gear. I'd love to go from 34rnds carried to 40rnds w/my EDC. Call me paranoid, but you never know when that 6rnds might make a difference. I'm just thankful that I live in a state where I don't have to worry about mag capacity issues.... *

I bought a mag for my M&P 45c at a gun show,it had 14 round capacity up from 8 rd mags,when I slapped it in my gun even with the spacer on it the thing was about 1'2" too long,next gun show its going back and I'm just gonna buy 2 more factory mags
