Kimber Ultra Crimsom Carry II Reliability?

Are there any concerns regarding reliability with this gun? Is it difficult to clean?, etc.

I am about to buy one. I like the feel and the looks, but I have been reading on this website inconsistent comments regarding its reliability. I have read about problems with the magazines, not properly tuned extractors, etc.. I still have time to change my mind and buy another pistol. I am also considering the Sig P239 (Plese feel free to offer suggestions about other similar guns). I have a CCW so concealment is important, as well as value.

I currently have a Springfield XD SC and a Ruger LCR .357.

    Your comments will be appreciated.

Reviews/comments on the Kimber will run the full gaunlet from piece of junk to best firearm ever made, and bear in mind that unhappy folk tend to make more noise than happy folk. With any "reduced" 1911, feeding issues can arise if the pistol isn't held firmly, and I think that causes some problems with some people, at least initially. While Kimber isn't at the top of my list of must have guns (or even on it), my son has a full-size Kimber that is really nice and works as advertised.

Like anything else these days, you need to do your homework. 1911s often needs work to run smoothly, so be prepared to work out a few bugs. When they work well, they are sweet.

It's what I carry 90% of the time depending on my clothing and carry issues. Over 3000 rds and on my 3 spring. Its been flawless. Change your recoil return spring every 1,000 rds and your fine.

    Thanks.

I actually got the 9mm version. My intention was to buy a 40 but the salesman gave me the 9mm instead by mistake. I decided to keep it since I alread have an XDm 40 anyways. Specially after reading a few ballistic reports on threads from this forum showing very little difference between the 3 cartridges. (9,40 and 45) I took the gun for a spin today, and it is a great carry gun. Very easy to conceal and confortable to carry. This week I'll take it to the range.

A .357 sig barrel? what about the magazine? a .357 sig magazine will just fit the 9? I did not know that.... interesting.
